Our daily life is our training ground. We become a product of our upbringing and surroundings. We live out the belief system and way of thinking that we have been programmed for.
HOW ARE WE TRAINED TO ENJOY UNHEALTHY FOOD?
We are taught that food will comfort us when we are sad or unhappy – we glean this through what our friends and family say, TV shows, and what we hear or say to ourselves.
We are conditioned to be shown love and show love through unhealthy food. Birthdays, holidays, when people are sick, when people are happy, or when they are upset.
We glorify it in society as something we DESERVE. We are given treats when we have been good as a child, or get rewarded with some form of unhealthy food for completing a task – which then carries on into our adulthood.
It is our way to connect with others and feel a part of something. We associate memories with specific foods.
The problem
Because we’ve been trained to believe unhealthy food gives us all of these amazing things, we feel disconnected, stressed, punished, and truly unable to be happy when we move away from unhealthy food. The human mind will always do things that offer more pleasure over pain. We need to retrain our minds to enjoy the daily process of eating healthy, while changing our beliefs around what unhealthy food gives us, in order to reach true success.
A successful transition into a healthy lifestyle comes when we learn how to retrain the way we think. Enjoy the process!
Diets don’t work!! …. And I will tell you why.
1. 1. Diets teach you that you must be perfect, or you are a failure! Somehow you are a bad person, or weak, if you can’t stick to it. This creates a psychological battle that will put anyone into a form of depression. If you’re depressed you won’t want to stick with ANYTHING. If you feel like you aren’t good enough then you won’t stick with it!!
2. 2. Diets are all about restrictions. No matter what age we are, we don’t like being told what to do!
3. 3. The word “diet” suggests a time limit
4. 4. Everyone knows diets make people cranky!! “ain’t nobody got time for that”. By the way… if your body hates being on this diet YOU SHOULDN’T DO IT!
5. 5. Diets normally cause added health issues.
6. 6. You don’t feel connected to your family or friends when you have a meal. Nobody likes to be the odd man out.
7. 7. Diets teach your listen to THEM and not your body… which is your most powerful health and weight loss tool.
8. 8. Your energy drops. On a healthy lifestyle plan your energy will rocket!

Love will cure all things……
When we think of love, we think of loving others or others loving us. I mainly think of Valentines Day, date night, holding hands, little notes made with soap on my mirror, or having something unexpectedly cleaned for you. The love that I talk about, the love that cures all things, is the love you give yourself and allow ourselves to feel. To truly love yourself, you must treat yourself with the kindness you would want from others, and you must treat yourself the way you would treat the person you love the most.
Why will love cures all?
It comes down to one point. When you love yourself the way you love your daughter, son, husband, lover…. then you will treat your body, and mind, with respect and listen to it. When we listen to our bodies, we will understand it, and understand its needs. We will see that we don’t feel as vibrant when we eat cake and we feel amazing when we take a walk and have a fresh juice. When we listen, we hear things we never thought we would. When we love ourselves enough to hear the needs we have, then we can take action. Stress, self-hate, emotional trauma, unhealthy food, the wrong job, or even the wrong people around you, will make or break your health. We live in a nation where we wait to hear test results or a diagnosis. First stop and think about how you feel and find out if by changing the things that I eat, and the space that I hold, can I make the change I need to in order to be, and feel, my best.
